Rector of Universitas Hasanuddin Met Indonesian Ambassador to New Zaeland to Discuss the Partnership with Victoria University of Wellington

Indonesian government through the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN/RB) encourage universities in Indonesia to conduct and develop collaboration with universities in New Zealand. The country, which is located in the southern part of the world, is one of the favorite destinations for Indonesian students to continue master degree. 

Sunday night (July 28th, in Wellington time), the group of Indonesian Government consisting of Rector and Board of Trustee of Unhas, Prof. Eko Prasojo (Leader of Bureaucratic Reform Team), and staff of Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan/RB) were welcomed by the Indonesian Ambassador to New Zealand, Samoa, and Kingdom of Tonga.

The team was welcomed by the Indonesian Ambassador (Tantowi Yahya), the Coordinator of Information and Socio-cultural Functions (Adek Triana Yudhaswari), the Second Secretary / Coordinator of Protocol and Consular Functions (Rendy Ramanda), and staff.

The Rector of Unhas, Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Palubuhu, MA, as a leader of delegations conveyed the desire of Ministry (Menpan/RB) to increase the capacity of Indonesian Civil Servants (Aparatur Sipil Negara/ASN) through the tripartite collaboration among The Victoria University of Wellington, Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas), and Universitas Indonesia (UI). Indonesian Civil Servants are expected to enhance their capacity through International Exposure.

“ASN from Eastern Indonesia can continue their study for one year at Unhas and one year at partner universities” explained Prof. Dwia

On the other hand, ASN from Western Indonesia can continue their study for one year at UI and one year at partner universities. This program will be funded by the Indonesian government through the LPDP Program.

The Indonesian Ambassador to New Zealand, Tantowi Yahya, enthusiastically welcomed the program because Universities in New Zealand, especially in Wellington, have many excellent study programs including Tourism, E-government, Geothermal, and Marine which are surely recommended for Indonesian Students. 

“Embassy of The Republic of Indonesia in Wellington certainly will support and provide facilities in bridging the implementation of this tripartite collaboration.

On the same occasion, Prof. Eko Prasojo technically explained that after studying at Unhas and UI, students who are interested in Master of Public Administration can proceed to the University of Canberra. For those who are interested in the Master of Public Policy can continue to the University of Melbourne and those who choose E-government will be facilitated in Wellington New Zealand.

Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN/RB) plans to establish the soft launching program double degree in Jakarta dated on August 21st, 2019. (*)
