Experimental Set Torsion of Rods & Tubes

Technical Description

This set is an additional accessory for the SE 110 / SE 111 range of experiments. Using this set, the basics of torsion loading can be investigated. The set contains several test rods made of brass with different shape cross-sections. A moment is applied to the rods using a cord around a pulley. The angle of twist at any point along the rod can be read with the aid of two sliding scales. Two chucks enable the test rods to be changed rapidly and easily. The robust construction of the set makes it suitable for student experiments. However, due to its size the unit is also suitable for demonstrations.
