Technical Description
Using this experimental set, available as a supplement to the SE 110 or SE 111 universal test frames, the application of the area moment method for the determination of the max. deflection and max. inclination of a beam can be clearly demonstrated. The set contains a beam with a rectangular cross-section that can be clamped at either end as required. This beam can be loaded with forces or moments at different points as required using weights on cords. In this way a wide range of different load cases can be investigated. The deformation of the beam is measured using mechanical dial gauges. All parts are of robust construction, the experimental set is thus suitable for student experiments.
