Academic Bureau reported that the academic calendar of Unhas had been approved by the Academic Senate for the first time since the granting of the Autonomous Status to the university. Ernawati explained, that the conduct of the first period of graduation coincided with the 60th Dies Natalis Commemoration, therefore would be separated with the conduct of the Graduation ceremony. This is aimed so that the graduates will not be in the Dies Natalis commemoration for an extended period, and then would attend the graduation ceremony. The ceremony is planned for the 7th of September, meanwhile, for the profession and post-graduate programs, graduation is expected to take place on the 8th of September. Dies Natalis commemoration is scheduled to take place on the 10th of September 2016.
On the possibility of the decrease on staff and lecture attendees in the Dies, University Secretary stated that the absence would be considered as a point for remunerations.
“This is because if such a policy is neglected, people will be lazy to attend the Dies Natalis commemoration. Saddening to hear, as this is a once in a year event,” added the University Secretary.
