The Association Alumni of Japan (Perhimpunan Alumni dari Jepang or PERSADA) South Sulawesi Chapter held a friendly meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia, H.E. Masafumi Ishii. This event started at 15.15 in Unhas LPMPP Hall, Tuesday (30/07).
This friendly meeting was held as one of the inauguration sessions of the Japan Corner Unhas by Ambassador Masafumi sometime before. The Chairperson of PERSADA South Sulawesi Chapter who is also the Governor of South Sulawesi (Prof. Dr. Ir. HM Nurdin Abdullah, M.Agr), Director of Unhas Partnership (Dr. Ir. M. Iqbal Djawad, M.Sc), the management of PERSADA of South Sulawesi, as well as around 40 alumni of Japan were also present at this meeting.
The event started with a video of PERSADA Sulsel activities, then continued with an introductory session of PERSADA Sulsel members who attended with the Japanese Ambassador. Iqbal Djawad acted as a master of ceremony in the casual atmosphere.
Iqbal Djawad explained that many alumni from Japan are currently working as educator and researcher at Unhas. They are from various scientific backgrounds. The alumni of japan contribution have brought its significance to the development of Unhas.
“We greatly appreciate and thank you for the presence of the Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia to meet us,” said Iqbal Djawad who had served as an Education and Culture Attache at the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo. (*)
