Hasanuddin University has received the ASEAN University Network certificate – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) for 3 study programs that were visited in November 2018. The four study programs are: Agribusiness (Faculty of Agriculture), Management (Faculty of Economics and Business), Architectural Engineering (Faculty of Engineering), and Dentistry Education (Faculty of Dentistry).
Today, Wednesday, June 12, 2019, the handover of AUN-QA Certificate was held for the 4 Study Programs, which took place in the Chancellor Lounge, 8th Floor of Unhas Rectorate Building. The certificate was handed over directly by the Rector of Unhas to the head of each faculty, and by the Chairman of the Academic Senate to head of each study program.
Previously, the four study programs were visited by eight AUN-QA assessors from four countries. The certificate of fulfillment of the AUN-QA standard has been officially accepted by Unhas, then handed over by the Rector of Unhas to the respective faculty and study program leaders.
Rector of Unhas, Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, MA welcomed the achievements of the four study programs, and gives appreciation to all task forces that have contributed to the achievement of AUN-QA standards.
"I always emphasize that our role at the university level is as facilitators and supporters. The most important contributions are commitment, willingness and hard work from each study program, task force, and faculty, "said Prof. Dwia.
The Rector of Unhas also expressed her appreciation for the university-level task force which tirelessly continued to lead and guide study programs in the preparation of the self- assessment report (SAR) document. "I understand very well how hard it is to compile the document, to meet the standards and criteria set by the AUN-QA," said Prof. Dwia.
In April 2019, as many as four Unhas study programs had also been finalized by AUN-QA assessors, namely Communication Science (FISIP), Archeology (Faculty of Cultural Sciences), Agricultural Engineering (Faculty of Agriculture), and Animal Husbandry (Faculty of Animal Husbandry). The results conveyed some time stated that the four study programs were also stated to have met the AUN-QA standard.
Thus, currently as many as 17 study programs have met the AUN-QA standard.
The Director of Unhas Communication, Ir. Suharman Hamzah, MT, Ph.D, CERT, explained that Unhas will continuously increase the number of study programs that meet the AUN-QA standardization.
"We have received another AUN-QA visitation schedule next year, namely Batch-6 in January 2020, and Batch-7 in November 2020. Meeting the AUN-QA standard is indeed a serious work and requires adequate time of preparation. "If this process goes as planned, we are optimistic that international accreditation targets can be met," Suharman said.
The Handover of AUN-QA Certificate was attended by all Academic Senate, vice chancellor, Deputy Chancellors, Secretary of University, Deans, and AUN-QA task force ranks at both the study program, faculty and university levels. (*)
