The New Consular of Japan to Makassar, Ohashi Koich discussed strengthening educational collaboration with the Rector of Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa M.Sc., during his visit to Unhas. The activity took place in the Rector’s Room, 8th Floor of the Unhas Rectorate Building, on Tuesday (28/03).
Ohashi Koich conveyed that the enhancement of Japan-Indonesia bilateral relations, especially the education sector, is the main mission that will be implemented in the future. According to him, Unhas is a strategic university that will encourage efforts to strengthen the long-established relationship between Japan and Indonesia.
“I am delighted to be able to visit Unhas which has a very large campus. This visit certainly aims to maintain the relationship with Unhas and I hope to expand the partnership with Unhas, especially in the field of education, “explained Ohashi Koich.
On the same occasion, the Rector of Unhas, Prof. JJ, warmly welcomed the visit of the new Japanese Consular by giving a general overview of Unhas in various aspects. Regarding the potential for cooperation to be carried out, he said Unhas would openly establish collaborations. Strengthening strategic partners is an essential part of Unhas’ efforts to expand the partnerships.
“Strengthening networks with partners is crucial for expanding the usefulness and quality of Unhas as a university. In the times of globalization, challenges are getting bigger and this requires the cooperation of various parties to deal with the challenges, “explained Prof. JJ.
On this occasion, Unhas and the Japanese Consular discussed various strategies to improve the education sector. The activities ended well at 11.00 WITA.
