The Rector of Universitas Hasanuddin Receives the Visit of The Ambassador of Australia, Ready to Strengthen Education Program

Prof. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, MA., the Rector of Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas), received the Ambassador of Australia to Indonesia, Penny Williams.  The visit of the Australian Ambassador was accompanied by the Australian Consulate-General in Makassar, Bronwyn Robbins, on Monday (01/11) at the Rector’s office, 8th Floor of Rectorate Building Unhas.

During the visit, the Rector of Unhas welcomed the arrival of Penny Williams. According to Prof. Dwia, Unhas and well-known universities in Australia are partners in running education programs.

Student Exchange becomes one of the programs that is enthusiastically participated by students from both countries. Therefore, Prof. Dwia hoped that the Australian Ambassador could provide easy access to students to pursue education in Australia, especially the distribution of scholarship quotas and Letter of Acceptance (LoA) as the official letter to be accepted by the designated university.

“We certainly strive to conduct exchange students program with various countries. Australia is currently still collaborating in webinars, guest lectures, and international conferences that invite experts from Australia. We highly expect such collaboration can be continued with various collaborative programs.” explained Prof Dwia,

On the same occasion, Penny Williams expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome by the Rector of Unhas. He hoped that the relationship could be maintained and strengthened with innovative long-term collaboration.

Moreover, Penny Williams said that Australia expresses its readiness to strengthen its commitment to creating more student exchanges and educational collaboration opportunities. So through the programs, we can provide opportunities to exchange information and explore multiculturalism among the students.

“We hope that the collaboration of Australia and Unhas can be improved in various joint research collaboration. This can be done with the support of various parties, especially the Australian Consulate-General in Makassar,” said Penny Williams.

In addition to discussing the collaboration, Unhas addressed the achievements of Unhas as the best university in Indonesia on an international level.

The visit ended with the exchange of souvenirs at 11.30 WITA.
