Universitas Hasanuddin to coordinate the conduct of the Affirmation Education (ADIK) selection in Eastern Indonesia in 2016. As much as 3.260 graduates of high school from all over Indonesia including those that classify in the 3T category (forefront, outermost, and left behind) to attend the ADIK selection that would coincide with 80 different locations all over Indonesia, 4th June 2016.
Directorate General for Studies and Student Affairs Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education Institution Prof. Intan Ahmad symbolically opened the ADIK selection in Sorong, West Papua.
Out of the overall participants, they will accept 1.500 participants to attend the Affirmation Program of Higher Education Institution, consisting of 500 high schools from Papua and West Papua, 500 from Papuan ethnicity studying outside of their hometown, to participate in the Middle Affirmation Education (ADEM), funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture, with 500 of the other participants taken from those in the 3T areas.
“The 3T regions include NTT, Sangihe North Sulawesi, Kendari Southeast Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Maluku, North Maluku, for Eastern Indonesia. Meanwhile in the west consists of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, West Sumatera, Bangka Belitung Islands, East Java, Banten, East Kalimantan, and Central Kalimantan,” stated Pokja member of ADIK Papua and 3T, Dr. Andi Ilham Makhmud, M.Si, Wednesday (8/6) in the Unhas Tamalanrea Campus.
Ilham Makhmud said, that the higher education institutions that reside in each location would act as the coordinators of conduct for the education affirmation examinations. Coordinator of the Higher Education Institution in the Western Regions will be held by IPB and Unhas for the East.
According to Ilham Makhmud, the tests implemented went well and smooth. For the Eastern parts, all of the answering sheets were gathered by Unhas, and IPB for the West. The answering sheets were then sent to the committee on Joint Selection of Higher Level Public Educational Enrollment (SBMPTN) 2016 in ITS Surabaya to be processed.
The students that attended the tests were specified for study programs of Science and Technology, as for the study programs of Social and Humanities, most of the participants of 3T have independently chosen such studies. Those accepted will receive a scholarship in the amount of IDR 1 million each month, and for institutions that have student accommodations, are hoped to facilitate them. Besides that tuition fees prepared each semester accumulates to IDR 2,4 million.
Those accepted for the ADIK program, stated Ilham, will be facilitated in 48 higher education institutions and 22 polytechnic state institutions spread all over Indonesia, designated for graduates of Vocational High Schools. (*)
