In welcoming the 61st Dies Natalis, the academic elements of Universitas Hasanuddin conducted a family gathering attended by all lecturers and staff, alumni, and their fellow family members. Other individuals were present include: Southe Sulawesi Governor with Head Staff Members, Indonesian National Police, Indonesia military, as well as a number of other invitees.
The family gathering took place on Monday, 10 September 2017 at the Universitas Hasanuddin Tamalanrea Campus courtyard, initiated with leisure walks around the Tamalanrea Campus. The total amount of participants accumulated to 1.000 individuals and was inaugurated by the South Sulawesi Governor, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, along with the Unhas Rector, Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, MA, and started 07.00 WITA.
Other events also included an exhibition of works made by each faculty with their respective working units. An entertainment stage was also present, with a number of door prizes that were generously donated by Unhas partners.
In her speech, Unhas Rector stated that the family gathering is a routine activity that is held to strengthen the bond between all academic elements of Universitas Hasanuddin. “We also invite alumni and our partnering institutions to be present in this event, with aims of tightening the bond that has been strong throughout the times,” stated Prof. Dwia.
The family gathering event also consisted of a cooking competition among the Heads of each Faculty and University. Unhas Rector and his husband, H. Natsir Kalla, were delegated as among the adjudicators of this lively event.
