Universitas Hasanuddin starting from the academic year 2016/2017 enrolled new students of the International Classes for two faculties, which include Economics and Business and Public Health. The newly admitted students of the International Classes are open to high school graduates of 2015 and 2016.
The registration is open online starting from 18 to 22 July 2016. In 27th of July, the participants will follow the Academic Potential Test (TPA) and two days following (29/7), will know whether they passed the test or not.
On the 1st until 3rd of August 2016, TOEFL test will be conducted for those that pass the TPA test, with the announcement release on 8 August 2016. Those that pass this phase will proceed to the interview session for two days (9-10 August), and Unhas will release those that pass by 11 August 2016.
The re-registration, admission fee payments, and tuition fees will be open from 11-12 August 2016, continued by the formal admittance of the student on 15 August 2016.
The methods of registration can be accessed on 18 July 2016. The total quota as of now is 20 individuals, with those passing not allowed to transfer to regular classes.
These classes are for those that have sufficient capacities. Therefore during the interview, after the candidates passed their TOEFL test, the parents are hoped to be present and make sure that they are financially capable of financing their children’s studies in the International classes.
For those passing in the Faculty of Economics and Business, the program’s registration payment is IDR 1 Million, with tuition fees each semester accumulating to IDR 15 million, and the admission fee of IDR 30 million. Meanwhile, for those that pass the Faculty of Public Health, the registration payment is IDR 1 million, with tuition fees each semester accumulating to IDR 16 million, and an admission fee of IDR 35 million.
Academically, to guarantee that those accepted fulfills the academic standards for the International Class programs, Vice Rector I will be on full responsibility. Meanwhile, on the matter of marketing and operational duties, Vice Rector IV and the Director of International Partnership are delegated the responsibilities.
Prof. Junaidi stated, that the newly enrolled students uses English language, and are all programmed to be able to continue their studies at a partnering university overseas. With the partnering university, they are eligible to become students or gain credits between 1 until 6 months.
“Later on in the third year, then they will be able to engage in academic activities overseas,” explained Junaidi.
The advantages of the program include the fact that they will be integral parts of the Unhas overseas partnerships, which for the meanwhile consists of Griffith University, Australia, and a University in Finland. Several high education institutions will follow along, including Japan and Taiwan.
