Universitas Hasanuddin, through the Faculty of Animal Science, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a Japanese Company, Kobayashi Nosan Co., Ltd. The signing ceremony was carried out by the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry (Prof. Dr. Ir. Lellah Rahim, M.Sc) and the President of the Kobayashi Farm Group (Kikuko Kobayashi) on the 8th Floor of the Unhas Rectorate Building, Tamalanrea Campus, Tuesday (25/2).
Agreement of Joint Cooperation between Faculty of Animal Science and Kobayashi Nousan Co. Ltd contains an agreement of both parties to work together in the field of development of education and research. In its implementation, the two parties will support each other in the learning process, collaborative research, and internships, which will involve lecturers and students.
The dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Prof. Lellah Rahim confessed her appreciation and respect to Kobayashi Nousan Co., Ltd, that was willing to support the development of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry.
“we are ready to dispatch our lecturers and students to join the Kobayashi Nousan Co., Ltd Programs. Upon returning from the land of Sakura, We hope that the lecturers and students will have gained a lot of experience and new knowledge, which can be shared with other academicians and community members,” said Prof. Lellah.
There are several programs that are prepared for Unhas students, one of which is an internship program. Through this program, students are expected to get to know the world of work before graduating from Unhas. Kobayashi Nousan Co. Ltd., stated their willingness to support the needs of students during the internship process, for example, accommodation and supporting activities during the internship.
Kobayashi Nousan Co., Ltd. is one of the subsidiaries of Kobayashi Farm Group, which is engaged in Animal Science. Kobayashi will later receive a workforce from Unhas, both alumni and students who run internships at animal science companies in Japan.
The Director of Communication of Unhas, Suharman hamzah, Ph.D who also attended the signing ceremony, said that the step taken by the Faculty of Animal Science should be appreciated because nowadays the institution needs toward the partners who provide the internship program are pretty high.
“We try to implement the program of Ministry of Education and Culture about the idea of “Merdeka Belajar” or “Independent Learning”. One of the requirements needed for this is the availability of company and industry partners who are willing to accept our students to get to know the world of work through internships.
