The Faculty of Vocational Studies (VOKASI) of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) officially signed a cooperation agreement with SuperMap Software Co., Ltd. and PT Nusantara Media Informatika on Tuesday, 12 May 2026, at the Meeting Room of the VOKASI UNHAS. The partnership marks a strategic step toward strengthening collaboration in education, geospatial technology development, and competency enhancement for students and lecturers, particularly within the Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems Study Program (PJSIG).
The signing ceremony was attended by the leadership of the VOKASI UNHAS, academic staff, and representatives from industry partners. Representing SuperMap International were Evelyn Sun and Della Monica. Meanwhile, Widodo attended on behalf of PT Nusantara Media Informatika. The event was also attended by Gilang Widya Wisaksana from PT Leica Geosystems Indonesia.
This collaboration aims at supporting the implementation of the university’s Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tridharma) through partnerships in education, research, training, certification, human resource development, and the implementation of industry-based geospatial technologies. Furthermore, the cooperation is expected to create opportunities for student internships, laboratory development, and capacity building to better prepare graduates for the evolving demands of the geospatial industry.
During the meeting, SuperMap International and Leica Geosystems Indonesia also expressed their commitment to supporting the development of the PJSIG Study Program through the establishment of a collaborative geospatial laboratory with the Vocational Faculty of UNHAS. The initiative is expected to provide state-of-the-art learning facilities, strengthen students’ practical and research experiences, and foster innovation in the fields of remote sensing and geographic information systems.
Dean of the Vocational Faculty, Prof. Dr. Ir. Muh. Restu MP, stated that collaboration with international and national partners is part of the faculty’s commitment to delivering education that remains adaptive to technological advancements and industry needs.
Through this partnership, the VOKASI UNHAS hopes to expand its strategic international network and further strengthen the position of the PJSIG Study Program as one of Indonesia’s leading vocational programs in remote sensing and geographic information systems.
