Following the confirmation of participation from all delegates of the 9th International Cultural Program (ICP), the International Office (IO) of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) organized a Pre-Arrival Orientation (PAO) on Saturday, 6 June 2026, through the Zoom platform. The orientation was attended by all participants and served as an important preparatory session before their arrival in Indonesia for the program.
The PAO was facilitated by Saaduddin, Ph.D., the ICP Project Manager. The session also featured Muhammad Ridwan, M.A., Secretary of the IO, along with members of the IO staff and the International Office Student Volunteers (Stuvo). In his welcoming remarks, Muhammad Ridwan, affectionately known as Ridho, expressed his appreciation to all participants for joining the program and encouraged them to make the most of the orientation session.
During the presentation session, Saaduddin, widely known as Mr. Saad, shared a comprehensive overview of the program through a PowerPoint presentation. He explained the objectives of the Pre-Arrival Orientation and provided detailed information regarding the activities scheduled in two locations: the City of Makassar and the Selayar Islands Regency. He also showcased highlights from previous ICP programs held in Puntondo, Takalar Regency.
Mr. Saad emphasized that for the past three years, the ICP had been conducted in Puntondo, while the 2026 edition would offer participants a new experience in the Selayar Islands. He further explained that this year’s program continues to uphold its core focus on the maritime culture of South Sulawesi, a theme that has remained central to the ICP over the years. The presentation was followed by an interactive Question and Answer (Q&A) session, during which participants raised various inquiries that were addressed thoroughly and clearly by Mr. Saad.
Prior to the orientation, the IO had conducted a series of coordination meetings with the Stuvo team to ensure the successful implementation of the program. The PAO concluded with a virtual group photo session, marking the beginning of the participants’ journey with the 9th ICP. The IO looks forward to welcoming all participants to Makassar and hopes for their smooth and safe arrival.
