The Faculty of Dentistry, Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), has officially commenced its 2026 International Enrichment Program at the College of Dentistry, China Medical University (CMU), Taiwan, as part of the faculty’s international community engagement (KKN) Program. The three-week initiative is being held from 29 June to 17 July 2026, providing students with valuable international academic and clinical learning experiences.
Representing the Faculty of Dentistry, UNHAS in this year’s Program are six undergraduate dental students: Kristio Goysal, Rifai Juniver Rizky Pratama, Gabriel Purnomosidik Moekono, Muhammad King Defano Arfah, Ahmad Alfarizi Ramadhan Raaj Raihan, and Ahmad Alfaqih Ramadhan Raaj Raihan.

During the Program, the students participated in a dental health education outreach activity for Pakistani and Indonesian citizens living in Taichung, Taiwan, organised in collaboration with the College of Dentistry, China Medical University. The activity aimed to promote oral health awareness and strengthen community engagement among multicultural groups in Taiwan.
A highlight of the outreach was a lecture delivered by Prof. Lyh Jih Fu on digital dentistry and its advancements. In his presentation, Prof. Fu discussed the growing role of digital technologies in modern dental practice and their impact on diagnosis, treatment planning, and clinical outcomes.

Following the lecture, participants were introduced to practical demonstrations of an intraoral scanner and a shade detector. The session allowed the students and attendees to observe how these tools are used in contemporary dental procedures and how they support greater precision and efficiency in patient care.
The Program provided an enriching educational experience for the UNHAS dental students while contributing to dental health promotion within the Taichung community. Through this activity, the students gained valuable exposure to international dental education, public outreach, and emerging technologies in dentistry.

This initiative reflects the commitment of UNHAS dental students to active learning, professional development, and community service. It also highlights the importance of cross-cultural collaboration in advancing oral health education and strengthening global perspectives in dentistry.
