Hasanuddin University Welcomes Delegates from Niigata University, Japan

Rector of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc., welcomed an official visit from Niigata University of Health and Welfare, Japan, led by Prof. Masayoshi Kubo, Ph.D. The Niigata University of Health and Welfare visited on Monday, 20 Feb 2023. The Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. drg. Muhammad Ruslin, M.Kes., Ph.D., Sp.BM (K), the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing UNHAS, Dr. Ariyanti Saleh, S.Kep., M.Si, the Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Syahrul Said, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., Ph.D. and the Head of the UNHAS International Affairs Office, Andi Masyitha Irwan, S.Kep., Ns., Ph.D. also attended the welcoming ceremony. Niigata University of Health and Welfare, Japan’s entourage included Mayumi Sato, Ph.D. (Senior Lecturer, Pediatric Nursing Department Niigata University of Health and Welfare), and six students.

On this occasion, Prof. JJ welcomed the visit of the Niigata University delegation. They discussed a lot about the development of Tri Dharma (Education, Research, and Community Services), especially the research conducted by UNHAS. Prof. JJ also discussed partnership opportunities that both parties could develop. What is more, Prof. Masayoshi Kubo was delighted with the warm hospitality of UNHAS. He said Niigata University is very supportive of building partnerships with UNHAS. In the meeting, they also discussed their campus’s achievements and academic activities.

Niigata University of Health and Welfare is one of the national universities in Japan, established in 1949. The university offers bachelor, master, and doctoral programs with ten faculties and five graduate schools in various disciplines, including humanities, medicine, health sciences, economics, and science. In general, the visit of Niigata University accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing to discuss several academic activities that the Niigata delegation will carry out, such as observations in clinical environments such as hospitals and nursing/rehabilitation in the community.
