In Improving International Reputation, Faculty of Social and Political Science Discussed Opportunities for Collaboration with Incheon University

To increase the international reputation as a form of commitment to World Class University, the Department of Administrative Sciences at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Hasanuddin held a meeting with Incheon University, Korea was aimed to discuss opportunities for cooperation between the two parties. The activity which took place virtually through the Zoom meeting application on Wednesday (09/03).

Prof. Jill Tao (Department Chair of Public Administration, Incheon University), Dr. Mahatma Lanuru, M.Sc (Director of International Cooperation Unhas), Dr. Phil Sukri Tamma, M.Si (Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Fisip), Dr. Suryadi Lambali, MA (Chairman of the Master of Public Administration Study Program), Dr. Muhammad Tang Abdullah, M.Si (Secretary of the Department of Administrative Sciences) and Andi Ahmad Yani, M.Si, MPA, M.Sc.

Head of the Department of Administrative Sciences, Unhas, Dr. Nurdin Nara, M.Sc., explained that the meeting was essentially aimed at encouraging the acceleration of collaboration with international partners. International cooperative efforts are part of the department’s commitment to achieving World Class University.

Furthermore, Dr. Nurdin said to continue to encourage the improvement of international reputation based on study programs, Public Administration has received an international certificate from the ASEAN University Network (AUN) in 2021. Furthermore, the Master Program in Public Administration has also participated in the international accreditation of the Foundation for International Business Accreditation (FIBAA) based on Germany in November February 2022.

“In addition, the Masters Program in Public Administration also manages a Double Degree Program with the University of Melbourne, Australia and Victoria University at Wellington, New Zealand which is facilitated by the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform and LPDP support. exist in the global arena,” explained Dr. Nurdin.

The meeting discussed various opportunities for collaboration between Unhas and INU with a focus on research, education and community service. In addition, plans for student and lecturer exchanges and research collaborations between lecturers were also discussed, particularly in the field of public administration.

Prof. Jill said that INU is located in Songdo City and is one of the global pilots in an information technology-based smart city which of course will greatly support research and public administration applications in the field of digital governance.

In the meeting, further discussions will be held on the preparation of the MoU and the signing of cooperation between university leaders and faculty leaders and department heads to encourage the acceleration of academic collaboration in the future.
