The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (kemeristek dikti) have issued a regulation that makes the process of research fund uses be more of ease, a matter that has been filled with complications as of late. Now, in showing a researcher’s responsibility of their projects, they just need an out put, no more administrative complication.
“Now our researchers can be happy, since the last week, rectors were called upon. The Minister announced that researchers could now be happy as the research reports are of out put based. No more need of gathering receipts, as the regulation substantively states through the Ministry of Finance Decree of 2016,” said Unhas Rector Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, M.A. when directing the event, Socialization of Research of Patent and Intellectual Property Rights Development, taking place in Ipteks Building Unhas, Wednesday (3/8/2016).
For the research groups of agriculture and food, medical and medicine, transportation, and alternative energy, they are categorized with financial levels. Reports on agricultural research are given IDR 65 million. If it is publicized, an addition of IDR 10 million will be granted. If it later was patented and published in a Scopus indexed journal, an addition of IDR 50 million will be provided. The specifics are all issued in tables.
“This is great news for researchers, as during the past, research can direct us to hell, not fictive, but must be administratively precise,” stated Dwia.
The seminar that lasted for a day consisted of speakers that include Prof. Dr. Ir. Amran Laga (MS) with the topic “Intellectual Property Rights Protection,” Prof. Dr. Ir. Abu Bakar Tawali with the topic “Constructing Research Based on Patents,” Prof. Dr. Ir. Sudirman entitled “Commercialization of Unhas Research,” and Hasbir, S.H., M.H. entitled “Protection Regulation and Royalty of Intellectual Property Rights.”
Dwia further hoped for the lecturers to being able to produce products, especially the Faculty of Pharmacy. Its only major obstacle though is the skill up directions. With the presence of the Directorate of Innovation Research, an incorporated company will be established with 51% of the assets owned by Unhas, meanwhile, the rest belonging to Coop and Alumni of the Engineering Faculty. From the corporation, divisions will be established, for the partnerships with other stakeholders.
