Optimizing Cooperation Potential, Hasanuddin University Organized Workshop on Student Internship Program and Partner Meeting

As one of the strategic efforts to explore the potential for cooperation, research, and innovation development, Hasanuddin University (Unhas) through the Faculty of Agriculture held a workshop titled “Student Internship Program and Partner Meeting.” The activity started at 09.30 WITA at the Unhas Hotel and Convention Center Ballroom, Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, on Monday (17/10).

To begin with, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ir. Salengke, M.Sc., expressed his gratitude for the participation of participants in the activity. Prof. Salengke stated that student competencies must be optimally prepared with the needs of the times in order to prepare students to face social, cultural, workplace, and rapid technological advancements.

“Link and match is not only with the industrial world and the world of work but also with the rapidly changing future. At the moment, higher education institutions are required to design and organize their competencies so that students can learn optimally and always relevant things about their attitudes, knowledge, and skills.” Prof. Salengke said.

Furthermore, Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) is expected to be the answer to these demands. An independent campus is a form of learning in universities that is autonomous and flexible so as to create a learning culture that is innovative, not restrictive, and in accordance with the needs of Unhas. One of the activities that needs to be prepared to support MBKM to run well is by carrying out internship workshops and industry meetings to harmonize the curriculum.

The activity was officially opened by the Chairman of LPPM Unhas, Prof. dr. Muh. Nasrum Massi, Ph.D., Sp.MK. In his remarks, Prof. Nasrum expressed his appreciation for the implementation of the workshop, which presented students and partners. He said, this activity is a forum to strengthen relationships with partners as well as build student skills to be ready to contribute to the industry or the world of work.

Currently, companies need human resources with the ability to link and match with the industrial world. Aligning the curriculum with the world of work will make it easier for students to get jobs after they finish college. In general, this activity is expected to increase the percentage of graduates who successfully get a job in less than 6 months, increase cooperation or partnership with companies in the industrial world.

The whole series of activities went smoothly. It is scheduled that the workshop will last until Tuesday (17/10).
