Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) presence in this prestigious international forum reflects the university’s strong commitment to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through higher education, research, innovation, and global collaboration. UNHAS was represented by the Directorate of Reputation team, led by the Director of Reputation Enhancement, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rohani Ambo Rappe, M.Si. The attendance of the UNHAS delegation is part of the university’s ongoing efforts to expand its international network while reinforcing its position in various global sustainable development initiatives.

Global Networks at Global Sustainable Development Congress (GSDC) 2026 brought together more than 5,000 participants, 500 speakers, 200 exhibitors, and representatives from over 100 countries. This forum serves as a gathering point for university leaders, researchers, sustainability professionals, industry players, policymakers, non-governmental organizations, and HR development leaders to share ideas, experiences, and best practices in supporting the SDGs. Through a series of events including high-level meetings, strategic discussions, interactive workshops, and innovation exhibitions, the congress aims to bridge the gap between academia, industry, and policymakers to translate sustainability commitments into actionable deeds.
The Director of Reputation Enhancement at UNHAS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rohani Ambo Rappe, M.Si., explained that UNHAS’ participation in GSDC 2026 provides numerous opportunities to expand international networks and unlock potential new collaborations with various foreign institutions. Throughout the exhibition, UNHAS booth attracted the attention of several delegates and representatives from overseas institutions. They demonstrated a keen interest in the various achievements, programs, and collaboration opportunities offered by UNHAS.
“Many partners, especially from overseas, visited the UNHAS booth. They were interested in learning more about UNHAS’s various programs and strengths, and some even expressed an interest in exploring future collaborations,” said Prof. Rohani. Furthermore, she explained that the various meetings and contact exchanges established during the event would be followed up promptly. UNHAS will initiate further communication with prospective partners to explore potential collaborative opportunities that can be developed together.
“Following this event, we will certainly follow up on the communication that has been established. From the numerous business card exchanges and discussions held, we will continue through official communication channels to see what collaborative opportunities can be realized together,” she added. GSDC 2026 serves as a key momentum for UNHAS to expand international partnerships and open new collaborative avenues with global institutions.
