Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Junaidi Muhidong, M.Sc. hoped that the research conducted by the Indonesian Horticulture Association (Perhorti) and the Indonesian Agronomy Association (Peragi) should embrace a roadmap that links the research made with the Research and Development (Litbang) of the Agricultural Ministry. The Vice Rector I raised such concerns while inaugurating the National Seminar of Perhorti and Peragi that was coincided with the Perhorti and Peragi Officials Appointment of the Regional Commission of South Sulawesi in the Ipteks Campus, Unhas, Monday (14/11). “There must be a collective idea sharing, so that the research can be developed in the future to being better,” stated Junaidi.
The Head of Balitbang Kementan, Dr. Ir. A. Muh, raised the same hopes. Syakir, MS that hoped that the research conducted in the higher education institution be linked with Litbang. That is hoped so that the researches made are able to provide diversifications and contribute to the welfare of the state. “Research made should contribute to the state competitive capacity,” stated Syakir that happens to be the head of the Central Peragi.
Meanwhile the Vice Governor of South Sulawesi, Ir. H. Agus Arifin Nu’mang, MS in his speech hoped that the research made by Perhorti and Peragi of South Sulawesi can contain elements of creativeness and innovation. “If there are not any financial assistances from the University, the regional government is ready to assist if the output of the research relates to the deterrence of issues faced all these times,” stated the Vice Governor.
Head of the National Seminar Perhorti and Peragi, Dr. Ir. Abd. Haris Bahrun, M.Si stated that the scientific orators and participants of the seminar increased drastically, but limited because of the limitations of the building. “Oral presentations we have limited to 100 research only, while others being posters,” stated Haris.
