Center of Research and Regional Development, Spatial, and Space Information (WITaRIS) Universitas Hasanuddin, Thursday (2/6/2016) launched the Geoportal during the series of events including a public lecture, in the Ipteks Unhas Building. With the website services utilized, it is hoped the essence is not only the utilization aspect but also the problem of technological use.

Universitas Hasanuddin Hospital (RS Unhas) now comprises of equipment known as the internal therapy that could operate in the process of tumor treatments for patients. The assistance equipment from Germany was received by the RS Unhas in 2012 and is capable of detecting tumor tissues in the womb, lungs, and jars. Similar material is present in only three other places in Indonesia.

The Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport Makassar now faces the condition of capacity, which is unable to balance the rise of passenger volumes annually, or in simple words, is in the crisis of overcapacity.

Pusat Penelitian dan Pembangan Wilayah, Tata Ruang, dan Informasi Spasial (WITaRIS) Universitas Hasanuddin, Kamis (2/6/2016) meluncurkan Geoportal dalam suatu acara yang dirangkaikan kuliah umum di Gedung Ipteks Unhas.

Rektor Unhas diwakili Wakil Rektor I Prof.Dr.Junaidi, M.Sc mengatakan, dengan pengoperasian website ini hendaknya disiapkan fasilitas teknologinya guna mencegah munculnya masalah di kemudian hari. Dengan pengoperasian website ini tidak hanya bagaimana memanfaatkannya, tetapi juga yang tidak kalah pentingnya adalah alih pemanfaatan teknologinya.

Rumah Sakit Universitas Hasanuddin (RS Unhas) kini memiliki alat internal therapy yang dapat dioperasikan dalam menangani tumor terhadap pasien. Alat buatan Jerman yang diterima RS Unhas tahun 2012 tersebut dapat mendeteksi jaringan tumor yang ada di kandungan, paru-paru, dan buli-buli. Alat sejenis ini baru tiga di Indonesia. Selain Unhas, juga ada di RS Cipto Mangungkusumo Jakarta dan RS Dr. Sutomo Surabaya.
