Universitas Hasanuddin through the Faculty of Engineering hosted the event “The 8th Joint Conference on Renewable Energy and Nanotechnology (JCREN)". This annual event took place at the 3rd floor of CSA Building, Gowa Campus, on Tuesday (05/11).
The event was officially opened by Vice-rector for Research, Innovation, and Partnership, Prof. dr. Muh. Nasrum Massi, Ph.D. In his opening remark, he reaffirmed the commitment of university leaders to support every event which oriented to the enhancement of international reputation. This commitment related to the Vision of Unhas to reach the title of WCU (World Class University).
“Scientific forums like this can develop our academic collaboration, expand network among academicians and researchers, and have a positive impact on joint research collaboration, especially in International level. We hope, this can be useful” said Prof. Nasrum.
On the same occasion, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Arsyad Thaha, M.T. explained that the purpose of the joint conference was not only as a scientific forum but also as a means to expand collaboration in academic development.
“Last year, this event was held at Yamaguchi University. Alhamdulillah, this year we are given the opportunity to host this event. The joint conference became one of medium to bring together academicians of the world to jointly discuss, gather brilliant ideas or thought which can be used to solve problem related to renewable energy.” Said Prof. Arsyad
In the event, many researchers from 5 different countries participated and 47 papers were presented. Some papers that were presented will be selected and later will be published in reputable international journals.
The event invited approximately 100 participants from university students and lecturers. It ended at 16.00 WITA. (*)
