Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas), the Faculty of Nursing, together with Kaikoukai Healthcare Corporation, agreed to cooperate in the threefold missions of higher education (Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi). This collaboration is an effort from the Faculty of Nursing of Unhas in realizing the internationalization of Unhas towards World Class University.
Vice-Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Partnerships of the Faculty of Nursing, Syahrul Said, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., Ph.D., stated that his faculty intensively explores collaboration with various parties, universities, and industry. Kaikoukai Healthcare Group itself is a Japanese global company in the health service industry.
Furthermore, Syahrul said that the collaboration with Kaikoukai is according to the Tridharma activities, which are education and research. The implementation of this collaboration included the assignment of two teaching staff from Kaikoukai as lecturers at Unhas. They are the experts in basic nursing and exercise therapy. In addition, a joint research team from Kaikoukai has also been formed and will conduct research related to exercise therapy for patients with chronic diseases.
“This collaboration is very beneficial for us to maintain ASIIN’s international accreditation standards. Moreover, the lecturers from Kaikoukai also can improve the achievements of international programs of Unhas and help us to produce reputable international publications, copyrights, or patents,” explained Syahrul.
Syahrul added that he would continue the collaboration that has been running since 2019. The two Kaikoukai staff who became Unhas Lecturers will continue to teach in several courses starting this semester and the following semesters. They also will join the research team with Unhas lecturers and others researchers from Kaikoukai.
Kaikoukai Healthcare Corporation is a global corporate agency based in Nagoya, Japan. This company is engaged in health services, including public hospitals and rehabilitation hospitals, elderly care, etc.
The cooperation agreement with Unhas was signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing Unhas (Dr. Ariyanti Saleh, S.Kp. M.Si) and Chairperson Kaikoukai Healthcare Corporation (Hirohisa Kawahara) on Saturday (25/01) online through the zoom meeting application.
