Technical Description
The table unit consists of a strong aluminium section frame to which all experiment components can be attached rapidly and precisely. Beam specimens of varying thickness made of different materials demonstrate the effect of geometry and the modulus of elasticity on deflection. Loading is applied using sets of weights and the beam deformation measured using measurement gauges. The forces are determined using dynamometers integrated into the bearings. These have large scales that are also easy to read from a distance. The scales can be rotated for zeroing. The height of the bearings can be adjusted using threaded spindles. The height of the measurement gauges in their holders is adjustable.
