Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) agreed on collaboration for the development of the threefold missions of higher education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi). The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Rector of Unhas (Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, MA) dan Vice-Chancellor of UTM (Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Ahmad Fauzi bin Ismail). The activity was carried out virtually on Webex Application at 15.00 WITA on Sunday (01/03).
Starting the activity, Prof. Datuk Ts. Ahmad Fauzi gave a general overview of UTM in his speech. He explained that UTM is the biggest engineering university in Malaysia which manages 11 faculties. The Collaboration with Unhas is expected to increase quality as an educational institution and strengthen the Indonesia-Malaysia partnership.
“This collaboration, hopefully, can be implemented well. In the near future, we can broadly expand our collaboration field and improve the good relationship between UTM and Unhas,” explained Prof. Fauzi.
On the same occasion, Rector of Unhas, Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, MA., welcomed both parties’ collaboration. As an autonomous institution (PTN-BH), Prof. Dwia conveyed that Unhas continues to make strategic efforts to produce superior human resources by looking at international partnerships opportunities.
“Unhas wants to engage more in society actively. We continue to maximize our innovation and put forward humanitarian action under the slogan of Humaniversity. Therefore, we hope this collaboration can enhance the quality of Unhas and UTM,” explained Prof. Dwia.
The agreement with a validity period of five years contains several important points. One of them includes academic expansion through student exchanges and collaborative research, innovation, and publication. In the future, we can develop this collaboration in other fields according to the two parties’ agreement and needs.
The signing of the MoU was attended by the Unhas and UTM leaders and run well until 16.00 WITA.
