Hasanuddin University (Unhas) held a Doctoral Studies Preparation Workshop for young lecturers as a follow-up to a placement test previously taken by 114 participants. The workshop took place on the 4th floor of the Unhas Rectorate Building on Saturday (21 February).

The workshop was led by the Vice Rector for Partnerships, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Business, Prof. Dr. Eng. Adi Maulana, S.T., M.Phil., and was attended by 42 young lecturers from across faculties who had passed the earlier placement test.

The workshop was held to prepare participants to be more competitive in the selection for scholarships from the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP), by strengthening the readiness of their academic documents and refining research proposals aligned with national priorities.

Prof. Adi stressed that further study for young lecturers is a long-term institutional investment. “We are preparing young lecturers not merely to earn a doctorate, but to build global networks, improve the quality of research, and strengthen the reputation of Unhas at the international level,” the Vice Rector said.

Prof. Adi emphasized that the process has been designed systematically so that participants’ chances of passing continue to increase.

“We want to make sure that every lecturer who applies to LPDP is truly ready, not only in terms of language scores, but also in the quality of their research ideas and their vision for contributing to the nation,” said Prof. Adi.

The workshop is part of Unhas’ commitment to developing outstanding human resources and strengthening the institution’s global competitiveness. (gie/aya*)
