About the Program
The Aquaculture Study Program (BDP) is dedicated to the comprehensive study of aquaculture, encompassing aquaculture technology, feed and nutrition, water quality management, reproduction and genetic engineering, as well as disease prevention.
Strengths
Accredited internationally by ASIIN and nationally as Superior, the Aquaculture Study Program at FIKP UNHAS is recognized for its excellence in education and research.
Areas of Specialization
The specialization in Aquaculture includes aquaculture technology, aquatic animal feed and nutrition, water quality management, aquatic animal parasites and diseases, and aquatic animal reproduction and engineering. This comprehensive curriculum ensures that students develop a deep understanding of key aspects of aquaculture.
Learning Process
The learning process in the BDP program involves a blend of face-to-face and online learning, complemented by laboratory practicums and field practice. Students are also required to complete internships or work practices in aquaculture, providing them with practical, hands-on experience in the field. Additionally, students have the opportunity to attend lectures in other study programs or universities through the inbound student program, enriching their educational experience. The final assignment for students is a research thesis, which is a requirement for obtaining a bachelor's degree. This research allows students to explore a specific area of interest within aquaculture and contributes to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
Career Prospects
Our graduates are well-prepared for diverse careers, including roles as researchers, academics (lecturers), extension workers, and entrepreneurs in the fisheries sector.
