About the Program

The Fisheries Product Technology Study Program is dedicated to advancing knowledge and skills in post-harvest technology, biotechnology, and the development of sustainable and environmentally friendly fishery products.

Strengths

Established in 2020, the Fisheries Product Technology program was previously part of the Aquatic Resources Management Study Program at the Faculty of Marine Sciences and Fishery.

Areas of Specialization

The program offers specializations in the handling of fishery products, preservation and processing of fishery products, quality and safety of fishery products, biotechnology, food safety, biochemistry, and fish nutrition.

Learning Process

Learning in the this program is a blend of classroom instruction, field practice, and laboratory work, including internships in the industry. Additionally, students have the opportunity to take courses at other institutions as part of their curriculum, enhancing their educational experience. The final assignment for students is a research thesis, allowing them to explore a specific area of interest within fisheries product technology. This research contributes to the advancement of knowledge in the field and prepares students for successful careers in fisheries product technology.
