About the Program

The Food Product Technology study program is one of the programs offered at the Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University. It emphasizes the science and application of technology in producing food crops.
This includes seed technology, soil and water processing, planting, fertilizing, pest control, harvesting, post-harvest processes, and marketing agricultural products.

Strengths

  • The curriculum is designed to have more practical portions than theory (60% to 40%) so that students do more practical activities than theory.
  • In addition to obtaining a diploma, graduates are also required to have at least two competency certificates issued by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP).
  • Involvement of practitioner lecturers from partners in collaboration with the course teaching team so that students gain practical knowledge and skills
  • Students have the opportunity to take part in internships at companies both domestic and foreign.

Learning Process

  • Learning is carried out directly in the classroom and through hands-on practice in experimental fields and partner industries, as well as through apprenticeships and fieldwork practice in industries both at home and abroad.
  • Lectures can also be carried out on campuses outside universities through MBKM activities.
  • Assignments can result in products, research, and reports from internship activities.

Career Prospects

The Food Product Technology graduates have the potential to be absorbed into various companies and the industrial world operating in the agricultural sector as technical personnel, machinery operators, production supervisors, etc. Graduates also have the opportunity to work in government and private agencies operating in the agricultural sector, as well as become entrepreneurs in agriculture.
