Strengthening Global Engagement: UNHAS Student Joins Academic Exchange at Kanazawa University

Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) continues to strengthen their commitment to global engagement by empowering its students through outbound programs. These initiatives, such as the visiting scholars program, aim to provide international academic exposure, enhance cross-cultural understanding, and develop students’ global competencies in an increasingly interconnected world.

One of the participants, Erizal Zhafran Muyazzar Edison, S.I.Kom, a master student from Communication Sciences at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), recently took part in the visiting scholars program at Kanazawa University (KU), Japan. The program was conducted from 8 to 11 April 2026 and offered valuable opportunities for academic immersion.

During the program, Mr. Erizal attended the international class titled A Critical Introduction to Modern Japanese Literature and actively engaged in the learning process under the supervision of Associate Professor Raj Lakhi SEN from the International Center for Research and Education of Japan Studies. Furthermore, he had the opportunity to meet with the Prof. Noriko Hasebe The Vice President for International Affairs and took part in a campus tour with local students to experience the university atmosphere and academic culture directly.

Mr. Erizal expressed his enthusiasm for participating in the visiting scholars program, highlighting the enriching academic and cultural experiences he gained. He hopes that this opportunity will contribute positively not only to his personal and academic development but also to the advancement of UNHAS at the institutional level.
