The Faculty of Dentistry (FKG), Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), through their International Affairs Office, successfully organized an International Guest Lecture for the Biomechanics and Tooth Movement Course on Thursday, 30 April 2026. The lecture featured Dr. Pyi Phyo Win, MS., Ph.D (cand.), from Taipei Medical University Hospital as the invited speaker.
The event was attended by students and academic staff of the FKG UNHAS and conducted online via Zoom Meeting. The lecture took place from 08.00 to 09.00 AM, following both Taiwan and Central Indonesia Time.During the session, Dr. Pyi Phyo Win delivered a presentation entitled “Functional Appliances,” discussing the principles, biomechanics, and clinical applications of functional orthodontic appliances in supporting tooth movement and craniofacial development. The topic provided valuable insights for undergraduate students, especially those enrolled in the Biomechanics and Tooth Movement Course.
This international academic activity aimed to enhance students’ knowledge and broaden their global academic exposure through collaboration with international institutions. The lecture also strengthened academic relations between FKG UNHAS and Taipei Medical University Hospital.The program was organized by the International Affairs Office of the FKG UNHAS as part of its continuous effort to promote internationalization and improve the quality of dental education through global engagement and academic exchange.
