Faculty of Nursing of Universitas Hasanuddin (FKep Unhas) held a webinar entitled “Top Scientist Webinar Series” under the theme “A New Approach to Eradicate Hard to Heal Wounds Through Bioengineering Nursing Science”.
The Webinar presented by Prof. Dr. Gojiro Nakagami (University of Tokyo, Japan) took place online through the zoom meeting application on Friday (17/06).
To begin with, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Research and Innovation, Syahrul Said, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., Ph.D. explained that bioengineering nursing science is a new course, especially in Indonesia. Therefore, this webinar has important meaning for the Unhas academic community, especially the Faculty of Nursing.
The activity was officially opened by the Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Partnership, Prof. dr. Muh. Nasrum Massi, Sp.MK., Ph.D. In his remarks, he said that the Top Webinar Scientist is one of the international programs in supporting Unhas to achieve the World Class University. In addition, it also facilitates students and lecturers to obtain new information from competent speakers.
“I believe the topics discussed will be very interesting especially since this is new information in nursing science. Therefore, I hope that the participants can follow the webinar well so that the information received can help in its application,” explained Prof. Nasrum.
In his presentation, Prof. Gojiro explained that biofilm-based wound care can change clinical practice in preventing wound infections and promoting healing in hard-to-heal wounds.
“The success of biofilm-based wound care requires collaboration with molecular biologists, chemists, and industry,” said Prof. Gojiro.
After the presentation of the material, the activity continued with a discussion and question and answer session which was attended by approximately 100 participants from lecturers and students of FKep Unhas. The activity which was guided by Saldy Yusuf, S.Kep., NS., MHS., Ph.D. (FKep Unhas Lecturer) as the moderator went smoothly until 17.30 WITA.
