Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Hasanuddin, Collaborates with the Yonsei University of Korea for the development of Tridharma (The Three Pillars of Higher Education)

The Faculty of Public Health (FKM) of Universitas Hasanuddin agreed to cooperate with Yonsei University of Korea to develop the three pillars of higher education. The agreement was stated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Director of Yonsei Global Health Center (Prof. Eun Woo Nam) and the Dean of FKM Unhas (Dr. Aminuddin Syam, SKM, M.Kes., M.Med.Ed).

The activity was conducted virtually through the zoom meeting application on Monday (02/08).

Prof. Eun Woo Nam, as the Director of Yonsei Global Health Center, explained that there are at least three benefits of this collaboration; Building a system of cooperation, Exchanging academics, and Contributing to the development of the global health sector.

“Furthermore, the partners will create cooperation in certain fields such as exchanging and providing materials, especially information about the experience of Healthy Cities, Yonsei Global Health Center, and so on,” said Prof. Eun Woo.

On the same occasion, the Dean of FKM Unhas, Dr. Aminuddin, warmly welcomed the cooperation. He hopes that FKM Unhas can be a good partner and pave the way for the Indonesian Healthy City Studies and the Nutrition Study Center to develop. In the future, he said the collaboration could develop in a new study centre in accordance with the demands and needs of the community.

“This is our pride for FKM Unhas to be able to work together with one of the world’s top universities. Yonsei University is ranked 85th in the QS World University Rankings. We hope that this collaboration will also conduct other activities such as guest lectures, lecturer and student exchanges, and joint research and publications,” explained Dr. Aminuddin.

The Director of the Center for Indonesian Healthy Cities Studies of FKM Unhas, Prof. Sukri Palutturi, SKM, M.Kes., MSc.PH, Ph.D., added that Prof. Nam is a senior lecturer at Yonsei University, South Korea, and has significantly contributed to developing healthy cities in South Korea and other countries in the Western Pacific Region. Hence, the parties will further strengthen collaboration from both parties in various other aspects in the future.
