Choir Song and Music Competition in Vietnam
The Student Choir Group (Paduan Suara Mahasiswa/PSM) of Hasanuddin University (Unhas) is set to participate in the prestigious The 8th Vietnam International Choir Competition, held from April 9–13, 2025, in Hoi An, Vietnam.
Choir Music Team Composition
A delegation of 34 singers, accompanied by their conductor and mentor, Anshari Sanusi, and the Director of Student Affairs, Abdullah Sanusi, Ph.D., departed for Vietnam on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
Global Choir Music Event by INTERKULTUR
Organized by INTERKULTUR, a leading international choir music organization, this competition brings together choir groups from around the world to showcase their talents, foster cross-cultural friendships, and share musical experiences.
Competitive Categories and PSM Unhas’ Participation
The event features multiple categories, including:
- Children’s Choirs
- Mixed Choirs
- Chamber Choirs
- Sacred Music
- Folklore
PSM Unhas will compete in the Folklore category, performing two traditional Indonesian songs:
- “Si Patokaan”
- “Langkan Maega”
Their unique arrangements and vocal techniques aim to impress the judges.
Grand Prize Competition
Winners from each category will advance to the Grand Prize Competition, where they compete for the “Champion of the Champions” title. PSM Unhas aims to win first place in Folklore and contend for the Grand Prize.
