The Faculty of Pharmacy (FARMASI), Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), successfully organized an international guest lecture featuring Dr. Fabiana Volpe Zanutto from Ulster University on 11 June 2026. The lecture on“Mass Spectrometry for Drug Discovery,” brought together faculty members, researchers, undergraduate and postgraduate students to explore the latest advances in analytical technologies for pharmaceutical research and development.
The guest lecture provided participants with valuable insights into the role of mass spectrometry in modern drug discovery. During her presentation, Dr. Zanutto highlighted how mass spectrometry has become an indispensable tool for the identification and characterization of bioactive compounds, metabolite profiling, biomarker discovery, and the evaluation of potential drug candidates throughout the drug development pipeline.
