The Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University (FK UNHAS) welcomed the visit of a team from the University of Dundee Medical School, Scotland, United Kingdom. The visit was officially hosted by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Agussalim Bukhari, M.Clin.Med., Ph.D., Sp.GK(K) accompanied by other Vice Deans. The activity took place at the FK UNHAS, Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, on Monday, January 16, 2023.
The Managing Director of UNHAS Hospital; dr. Andi Muhammad Ichsan, Ph.D., Sp. M (K), Chair of the Department of Ophthalmic Health; dr. Muhammad Abrar Ismail, M.Kes, SpM (K) were also present. The team from the University of Dundee included Andrew Pyott, MD., Jhon Ellis, MD, MPH, Ph.D., FRCOphth, and Obaid Kousha.
In general, the purpose of the visit was to discuss and jointly discuss plans for multicenter research collaboration with the Department of Eye Health Sciences FK-UH to improve the quality of education of staff and participants in the Specialist education program. Furthermore, research collaboration and cooperation between the two parties is also carried out through giving guest lectures to increase knowledge and provide the latest information for the academic community of FK UNHAS.
