Hasanuddin University through the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) held a guest lecture discussing "Digital Discretion and The Delivery of Public Services: Assessing Opportunities and Risks in New Era". The activity that invited Professor Mark Considine as a speaker took place in Prof. Hall. Syukur Abdullah, Fisip Unhas, Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, Monday (10/28).
On this occasion, Prof. Mark, who is the Chief Academic Officer of The University of Melbourne, Australia, explains how technology-based public services are commonly called digital delivery.
In his presentation, he explained that digital delivery is part of the service including making databases, using algorithms to make decisions, and other options that can facilitate users in accessing the services they want. He added several countries have developed and improved digital delivery in providing services to the public.
"Digital delivery focuses on services that are more effective because they are adjusted to the database. So the services and responsibilities are clearer," explained Prof. Mark, known as one of the experts in the fields of government and public administration.
The guest lecture hosted by Andi Ahmad Yani, M. Si., MPA., MSc as the moderator and was attended by approximately 70 participants from students and lecturers which lasted until 13:00 WITA.
The Arrival of Prof. Mark Considine is also part of the effort to realize collaboration between the Universitas Hasanuddin and Melbourne University to organize a capacity-building program for the state civil servants through education. (*)
