Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) through the Academic and Student Affairs Division participated in the 53rd International Education & Career Korea 2023 Spring in Hall C, COEX, Seoul, South Korea on Saturday-Sunday (4-5/3 2023). UNHAS is one of the five universities in Indonesia that participated in this educational exhibition. International Education & Career Korea is the largest education exhibition in South Korea which has been going on for more than 30 years since 1992. This exhibition is an important guide for exhibitors and visitors in making educational choices, and the desired overseas experience.
Gogot Suharwoto, the Education Attache at the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul, said that this was the first time Indonesia participated in the IEC Korea and there were 5 universities (PTN/PTS) participating, including UNHAS, University of Indonesia (UI), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). ), Yogyakarta State University (UNY), and Bina Nusantara University (BINUS). The participation of Indonesian universities in this event was directly coordinated by the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul and the organizers. “In the future, we will coordinate and formulate a strategy with the Ministry of Education and Culture so that we hope that PTN/PTS in Indonesia can more actively attend this event,” said Suharwoto.
Dr. Risma Illa Maulany, S.Hut., M.NatResSt., Director of Education, Academic and Student Affairs of UNHAS explained that most of those who visited the UNHAS’s stand were students who were looking for a postgraduate program. “Our goal in holding this exhibition is to target Masters and non-degree students from South Korea,” said Risma. Apart from participating in the IEC 2023, UNHAS also visited Seoul National University, Chonnam National University, KAIST, Chungbuk National University, and Pukyong National University, to follow up on research collaboration and explore student mobility on March 6-8 2023.
