A total of 11 Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) students successfully passed the selection of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) program organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. This is in accordance with the announcement issued by the IISMA committee in June.
The Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. drg. Muhammad Ruslin, M.Kes., Ph.D., Sp.BM (K), dispatched the representatives of Unhas students who will be participating in the IISMA program. The ceremony took place in the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs Room, 7th Floor of the Rectorate Building, Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, on Friday (22/07).
Director of Student Affairs and Career Preparation (Abdullah Sanusi, SE., MBA., Ph.D.), Head of International Affairs Office (Andy Masytha Irwan, S.Kep., Ns., MAN., Ph.D.), Head of Subdirectorate of New Student Admission (Nurul Ichsani, S.Sos., M.I.Kom) also attended the event.
On this occasion, Prof. Ruslin generally provided some advice and hopes to IISMA participants. He said the participants were representatives of Unhas for the campus in which they will study. Therefore, Prof. Ruslin hopes that Unhas students can become a connector to overseas university partners.
“Unhas in general will provide full support to students who have successfully passed the IISMA program. In the future, to increase the number of Unhas student participation, we will hold FGDs and prepare in advance as an effort to encourage students, “explained Prof. Ruslin.
On the same occasion, Director of Student Affairs and Career Preparation, Abdullah Sanusi, SE, MBA, Ph.D., said that for this year the number of participants who managed to qualify was 11 students from several faculties in Unhas. They get scholarships from the Ministry to study at overseas partner universities for one semester.
The students will be deployed to several overseas universities such as Chile, United Kingdom, Estonia, Lithuania, the USA, Italy, Taiwan, Germany, South Korea, and Poland. He said that the participants who took part in the IISMA program could make optimal use of the opportunities provided to increase knowledge as well as networking. Abdullah hopes that the participants can become representatives to introduce Unhas to the universities they choose.
