Hasanuddin University has recorded a positive achievement in the 2026 Research and Community Service Funding under the BIMA grants (Research and Community Service Information System, BIMA) of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek). A total of 201 research proposals received BIMA funding for 2026, consisting of 70 continuing grants (65 research and 5 community service) and 131 new grants (106 research and 25 community service).

Every funding scheme offered in the PTN-BH Independent Cluster was secured, demonstrating Unhas’s multidisciplinary strength.

The Secretary of the Unhas Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), Prof. Ir. Suharman Hamzah, ST., MT., Ph.D (Eng)., HSE., said the achievement was inseparable from intensive efforts to mentor the applicants. The approach included structured mentoring as well as a strategy of mapping schemes to match each field of expertise and the readiness of each proposal.

“Various strategies and coordination efforts continue to be carried out optimally. Alhamdulillah, this year we secured every research scheme offered in the PTN-BH cluster,” Prof. Suharman explained.

Prof. Suharman reminded researchers that research proposals must be prepared thoroughly and based on clear planning. Each proposal is expected not only to meet administrative requirements but also to make a real contribution to the advancement of knowledge and to society.

“Research must be well prepared from the outset. Going forward, we will continue to encourage lecturers to submit proposals to the various other schemes available, and to improve quality based on reviewers’ feedback,” Prof. Suharman added.

As a sustained commitment, LPPM Unhas will continue to provide mentoring for proposals that did not secure funding. Revisions will be made systematically so that they can be resubmitted in the next period with better quality.

“We will not stop at this achievement. On the contrary, we will keep pushing to improve the quality of proposals so they become more competitive across funding schemes,” Prof. Suharman stressed.

In total, Unhas submitted 1,057 research titles and 120 community service titles to the BIMA Program this year. The high number of submissions reflects the enthusiasm and productivity of the academic community in developing quality research and community service.

Regarding the total funding received, no official information has been announced so far. The amount of funding will be released by the relevant ministry and communicated through each participant’s account. The announcement is expected within the next one to two weeks.
