MAKASSAR – Hasanuddin University recorded strong interest from prospective students across Indonesia in the 2026 National Test-Based Selection–Computer-Based Written Examination (SNBT-UTBK). Through this national selection pathway, 5,848 prospective Unhas students passed. The figure is 87 more than the initial capacity of 5,761 seats. The increase is due to a shift from vacant quota in the merit-based pathway.

The selection results have been announced nationwide and can be accessed by applicants through their individual accounts on the official website of the National Selection for New Student Admission (SNPMB).

According to Unhas SNBT 2026 statistics, the Medical Education Study Program again had the most applicants, at 3,106. It was followed by Law with 2,671 applicants and Dental Education with 2,205. Management, Public Health, Mining Engineering, Pharmacy, Informatics Engineering, Digital Communication, and Accounting also made the list of the ten study programs with the most applicants this year.

Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. drg. Muhammad Ruslin, M.Kes., Ph.D,. Sp.BM(K)., explained that the high public interest in Unhas reflects growing public trust in the quality of education, the development of research, and the academic transformation the university continues to pursue.

“The public’s trust in Unhas is a great responsibility that must be answered with ever better educational quality. We want to produce graduates who are not only academically excellent, but also adaptive, innovative, and able to make real contributions to society and national development,” Prof Ruslin explained.

On a separate occasion, Unhas Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc, warmly welcomed the success of Indonesia’s golden generation in becoming part of Unhas. Prof. Jompa urged them to make the best use of this opportunity.

“You are a chosen generation who will play an important role in the future of the nation and the country. Keep up your drive to improve yourselves through the opportunities Unhas provides,” said Prof. JJ.

Applicants who have been declared to have passed through the SNBT pathway at Unhas are urged to promptly review the requirements, procedures, and schedule for re-registration, which runs from 27 May to 17 June. The deadline for paying the single tuition fee (UKT) is 20 June 2026.

All registration stages are conducted online to make administration easier for new students from across Indonesia. Unhas will then verify the documents submitted.

Meanwhile, for applicants who did not succeed through the SNBT pathway, Unhas still offers an opportunity through the independent admission pathway (Seleksi Mandiri). The pathway is intended as an alternative for prospective students to continue their education at Unhas in line with their interests and academic potential.
