Faculty of Law Universitas Hasanuddin and University of California Agree to Collaborate in the Development of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi)

The Faculty of Law, Universitas Hasanuddin, and the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law agreed to develop the Three Pillars of Higher Education. The agreement was stated in a Memorandum of Understanding between the Dean of the Faculty of Law Unhas (Prof. Dr. Farida Patittingi, SH., M.Hum) and the Dean of UCB (Erwin Chemerisky, B.S., J.D).

The activity took place virtually through the zoom meeting application on Tuesday (27/07) and ran well until 9.30 WITA.

The Director of Partnership (Dr. Mahatma, ST., MSc), the Vice-Deans, the Chair and Secretary of the Quality Assurance Group, and the Heads of Study Programs at Unhas attended the MoU Signing ceremony.

In the opening ceremony, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Farida Patittingi, SH., M.Hum., expressed her appreciation and gratitude for the collaboration from both parties. This collaboration was a breakthrough in developing the quality of Unhas legal education.

Therefore, it is greatly hoped that this activity could further strengthen the scientific base and science novelty, considering that UCB is a world-class university with extraordinary achievements.

“Eventually, this collaboration will optimally support the implementation of the Three Pillars of higher education and actualization of Unhas commitment to become a World Class University (WCU). The Faculty of Law Unhas will always continue to improve its existence in the development of academic, education, and research fields, “explained Prof. Farida.

On the same occasion, the Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Partnerships of Universitas Hasanuddin, Prof. dr. Nasrum Massi, Ph.D., through his remarks, explained that Unhas had continuously maximized various achievements. He said Unhas had received many awards for this year, both at the national and international levels. Unhas managed to rank 79 globally and 2 in Indonesia based on the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking.

“We hope that we will continue to achieve the next award both on national and international scales. This becomes one of the reasons to support every collaboration with the Law School of the University of California, Berkeley, USA, which has an international reputation in the QS Ranking, “explained Prof. Nasrum.

He hopes that there will be an admission of teaching staff from the Faculty of Law Unhas to the UC Berkeley School of Law, USA, to broaden knowledge and experience later.
