The inauguration of the Unhas Rector for the 2026-2030 term will be held at Baruga A.P. Pettarani, Tamalanrea Campus, on Monday, 27 April 2026. To ensure readiness, a structured approach is being used that emphasizes cross-unit coordination and progress-based evaluation. These steps are intended to guarantee that every stage runs effectively, measurably, and in line with institutional standards.
The main focus is on synchronizing several key components, including guest management, designing the program flow, and public communication strategy. Each aspect is mapped out in detail to minimize potential problems on the day.
These key components were discussed at an inauguration preparation meeting chaired by Prof. Dr. drg. Hasanuddin, MS., Sp.Perio(K)., as committee chair, held in the 8th Floor Lounge of the Rectorate Building on Thursday (16 April). At the forum, each unit presented a preparation report as the basis for an overall readiness evaluation.
Prof. Hasanuddin stressed the importance of thoroughness and consistency at every stage of preparation. Prof. Hasanuddin reminded everyone involved to make sure every detail has been well prepared. In Prof. Hasanuddin’s view, coordination must be strengthened so that no technical problems arise on the day.
“The inauguration of the rector is a strategic institutional agenda that reflects the university’s governance and professionalism. Therefore, all committee members must work in a measured, disciplined way and respond to every development that arises during the preparation process,” Prof. Hasanuddin explained.
At the meeting, each committee gave an overview of its preparations, for example the program flow, which is designed systematically with attention to punctuality, protocol compliance, and effectiveness. Adjustments are being made so that the whole series of activities can proceed without obstacles.
In communications, the publicity strategy focuses on delivering information that is accurate, coordinated, and reaches audiences widely. Unhas will optimize the dissemination of information through various channels, including cooperation with the media, to ensure the public receives complete information.
The inauguration of the rector is the authority of the Board of Trustees (MWA), the organ responsible for appointing and inaugurating university leaders in accordance with applicable regulations. After going through all the stages of the election, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc. was confirmed as Rector of Hasanuddin University for the 2026–2030 term.
Through continuous strengthening of planning and evaluation, it is hoped that the entire inauguration program can be carried out effectively and in an orderly manner. (*/mir)
