Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) hosted an ASIIN international accreditation on-site visit on Wednesday–Thursday, 6–7 May 2026, for six study programs. This activity is part of the university’s commitment to improving the quality of higher education and strengthening international recognition of its study programs.

ASIIN (Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik) is a Germany-based international accreditation agency focused on ensuring the quality of higher education in engineering, science, mathematics, computer science, agriculture, and related fields. ASIIN accreditation serves as a form of international recognition that a study program has met global standards.

This accreditation process began with the submission of the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) on 27 October 2025, as part of the initial evaluation phase. The entire accreditation process was coordinated by the Institute for Quality Assurance and Educational Development (LPMPP) to ensure that each study program is prepared to meet the ASIIN standards.

The six study programs were divided into two clusters. Cluster A consists of the Bachelor Programs in Mathematics and Geophysics, while Cluster B includes the Bachelor Programs in Aquaculture, Food Science and Technology, Agrotechnology, and Animal Husbandry.

The assessment team for Cluster A consists of Timur Schmidt (ASIIN office), Prof. Dr. Bülent Tezkan (University of Cologne), Prof. Dr. Stefan Roth (RWTH Aachen University), Prof. Dr. Hilda Assiyatun (Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB)), Dr. Arie Wahyu Wijayanto (STIS Polytechnic of Statistics), and Aifa Maladina Ulya (Student at Yogyakarta State University).

Meanwhile, the Cluster B assessment team consists of Dr. Thomas Lichtenberg (ASIIN office), Prof. Dr. Markus Frank (Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences), Dr. Knut Franke (University of Hannover), Prof. Dr. Reinhold Hanel (Director of the Thünen Institute, Institute of Fisheries), Dr. Bayu Priyambodo (Lombok Marine Aquaculture Development Center), Rosa Arum Kinasih (Student at the University of Lampung).
