Hasanuddin University received a visit from a delegation of Anhui Fuxin Education Consulting led by Jeff Sun, Founder & General Manager. The visit was part of exploring strategic cooperation in international education through the “Fuxin Education” program.
The delegation was received by Unhas Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc in the Rector’s Office, Unhas Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, on Wednesday (18 February).
Prof. JJ expressed appreciation for Fuxin Education’s initiative in building partnerships with Indonesian universities. The step initiated by Fuxin Education shows a real commitment to promoting cross-border educational collaboration oriented toward quality and sustainability.
Unhas has consistently expanded its global network as part of its strategy to strengthen its international reputation. Internationalization is not merely increasing the number of foreign students; it also includes strengthening academic quality, research collaboration, faculty and student mobility, and integration with the global industry ecosystem.
“We welcome Fuxin Education’s initiative as a strategic partner in opening broader access to collaboration with institutions in China. Unhas is committed to ensuring that every cooperation built is not merely symbolic but has a real academic and institutional impact,” explained Prof. JJ.
On the same occasion, Jeff Sun explained Fuxin Education, a cross-border education partnership model focused on student mobility, institutional collaboration, and industry involvement.
The program is designed as an integrated collaboration model that focuses not only on Chinese students but also on developing an education ecosystem involving universities, students, and the business world.
“Cooperation can also be directed at developing specific academic programs. Several options include master’s programs with Mandarin language support and strengthened cross-faculty cooperation,” explained Jeff Sun.
Anhui Fuxin Education Consulting is an education consulting company based in China that focuses on further-study services and the placement of students at universities in Southeast Asia. In its development plan, Fuxin targets a significant increase in the number of foreign students continuing their studies at Unhas through a strategy of cooperation with a number of universities in China.
The Fuxin Education delegation also expressed a commitment to encouraging the involvement of Chinese companies in supporting the implementation of the cooperation, including internship opportunities and collaborative research. In the meeting, both sides discussed potential cooperation that could have a long-term impact on strengthening internationalization. (*/mir)
