Departure of the First Batch of International Community Service

Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc., Rector of Hasanuddin University officially dispatched the first batch of International Health Professions Community Service Program (KKN PK) students to the Faculty of Medicine through the zoom meeting application on Monday (11/07).

The Chief Executive of KKN PK Unhas, Dr. Irwin Aras, M.Epid., M.MedEd, in his remarks said that International Class KKN PK was the first program by the Faculty of Medicine. This community service will take place at Kaikoukai Healthcare Group which is one of FK Unhas’ strategic partners involving 6 participants.

One of the objectives of the International KKN PK program is that students will learn about the health system in Japan, where they can also gain firsthand experience of Japanese health and culture.

On the same occasion, Dean of FK Unhas Prof. Dr. dr. Haerani Rasyiod, M.Kes., Sp.GK., Sp.PD., said that Kaikoukai has long established cooperation. He hopes that in the future not only FK students will be involved. However, all students in the health family.

“We hope that the implementation of KKN PK International will be a medium that can be utilized by students as an effort to increase knowledge. They can carry out community service well and bring knowledge and other experiences that are useful not only for themselves but also for Unhas,” explained Prof. Haerani.

Representing the Kaikoukai Healthcare Group, Abe Kayuza as Division Manager said in his speech that his party warmly welcomed the arrival of Unhas students. It will do and provide the best facilities. He hopes that Kaikoukai can be present to help Unhas in increasing capacity and quality in the global world through various positive activities.

The Rector of Unhas, Prof. JJ before officially releasing the first batch of international KKN PK students in batch 108 gave his appreciation for the long collaboration with Unhas. He said programs like this are the first step in strengthening the internationalization process to be more collaborative.

“Our students must be introduced to the global world early to strengthen networking. The most important skill is to be open, being an Unhas ambassador in another country is one of the best examples. This is part of strengthening professionals and attitudes,” explained Prof. JJ.

As scheduled, the first batch of KKN PK students will depart for the location on July 15, 2022. KKN PK International will last until August 15. The whole series went smoothly until 16.00 WITA.
