Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Hasanuddin University held a guest lecture with the theme “Biomarker Discovery Using Proteomics”. The activity took place starting at 09.30 Wita virtually through the zoom meeting application, Friday (11/11).
The speakers were Prof. Dr. Zulqarnain Mohamed (Dean of the University of Malaya, Malaysia) and Prof. Dr. Saiful Anuar Karsani (Lecturer at the University of Malaya).
The activity was officially opened by the Dean of FMipa Dr. Eng. Amiruddin, S.Si., M.Si. In his remarks, Amiruddin expressed his gratitude to the speakers who took the time to share information and experiences at Unhas. In addition, he also gave an overview of FMipa in general to the speakers.
“We are very happy to welcome the speakers. Even though it was carried out online, we believe that the participants actively participated in the activity. In FMipa we have 6 departments and the most popular are information systems and actuarial study programs,” explained Dr. Amiruddin.
Furthermore, Amiruddin said FMipa continues to optimize partnerships with various parties as a form of achieving the main performance indicators given by the ministry to universities. For this reason, FMipa expands collaboration and synergy not only nationally but also internationally.
After the speech, it was continued with the presentation of the speakers’ material. The initial material was explained by Prof. Zulqarnain about “Research Collaboration”. In general, he explained a lot about University Malaya including strategies to increase research collaboration.
According to him, universities need to optimize their involvement in presenting various innovations through research. Therefore, Prof. Zulqarnain said that University Malaya actively develops partnerships with various parties. Not only that, in supporting the improvement of research, the availability of facilities and infrastructure is also needed.
After all the speakers delivered their material, then continued with a question and answer session from the participants. In this activity, participants actively asked questions and responded to the material presented. The whole series of activities went smoothly and was scheduled to end at 12.00 Wita.
