The Faculty of Medicine (FK), Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), has once again demonstrated its commitment to international academic engagement through the implementation of the Outbound Student Clinical Training Program at Kanazawa University (KU), Japan. The program is being held for nearly one month, from 22 June to 17 July 2026, and is participated in by three FK UNHAS students: Gita Fitri Aidini Tammasse, S.Ked., Izzah Zamitah, S.Ked., and Muhammad Zaky Rayyan, S.Ked.
Throughout the program, the students are assigned to various departments based on their respective areas of academic interest. These departments include Molecular Pathology of Skin, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, Neurology, and Gastroenterology, allowing participants to gain valuable clinical exposure under the supervision of experts in each field.
The program provides students with the opportunity not only to enhance their clinical knowledge and practical skills but also to broaden their understanding of Japan’s healthcare system, professional work culture, and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. Through direct engagement in an international clinical environment, participants are able to experience best practices in medical education and healthcare delivery.
This international experience is expected to strengthen the students’ cross-cultural communication skills, increase their confidence in global academic and clinical settings, and equip them with the competencies needed to face the evolving challenges of the medical profession.
The Outbound Student Clinical Training Program is part of the long-standing international collaboration between the FK UNHAS, and Kanazawa University. Through this partnership, both institutions continue to create opportunities for academic exchange, collaborative research, and capacity building for students and faculty members.
