The Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) of Universitas Hasanuddin and Taipei Medical University (TMU) Taiwan collaboratively organized an international conference entitled “2022 International Conference for Digital and Dental Technology”. The opening of the activity took place online through the zoom meeting application on Monday (27/06).
Three speakers attended this conference, they were Assoc. Prof. Wei-Fang Lee (Taipei Medical University), Assoc. Prof. Irfan Sugianto (Hasanuddin University), Assoc. Prof. Fang-Yu Fan (Taipei Medical University) and Assoc. Prof. Erni Marlina (Hasanuddin University).
To begin with, the Dean of FKG Unhas Prof. drg. Muhammad Ruslin, M.Kes., Ph.D., Sp.BM (K), said that this collaboration will positively impact the development of digital technology in the world of dentistry in various aspects.
“This conference is one of the platforms to exchange information related to the development of medicine, especially in the field of dentistry. We hope that participants can take advantage of this forum to network, search and find the latest research ideas, and find information for the development of science,” explained Prof. Ruslin.
On the same occasion, Prof. Yung-Kang Shen (Collage of Oral Medicine School of Dental Technology, Taipei Medical University, Taiwan) said the conference was a forum to discuss the development of digital technology in dentistry.
“The industrial era 4.0 encourages the need for adjustment and adaptation in various things including the health sector,” said Prof. Shen.
After the speech, the event then proceeded to the material presentation session of the speakers. The first presentation was delivered by Prof. Wei-Fang Lee who described oral medical education, dental technology, technology programs, and TMU digital dental technology distribution.
Prof. Wei Fang said, technology in the dentistry field has a big influence to help dentists do their duties. The current era of technological development encourages digital reform, including in the field of dentistry. Therefore, according to him, it is essential to make adjustments to improve the quality of service to the community.
The second topic was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Irfan Sugianto related to “Diagnostic Value of Fluid – Attenuated Inversion Recovery Magnetic Resonance Imaging (FLAIR MRI) for Multilocular Ameloblastoma”. In general, he gave an overview of cases related to ameloblastoma.
After all the speakers delivered their materials, the conference then moved to a discussion session with the participants. The activity lasted well until 14.00 WITA.
